Area Profile

Leysin

Leysin is a small well developed ski resort which has become a popular choice for school trips and budget travelers, thanks to the relaxed atmosphere and excellent facilities for beginners. It sits at a height of 1,200m high on a plateau, its south facing slopes receiving plenty of sunshine, and has some stunning views over the Rhone Valley. Leysin is home to a world-class snowpark, and plays host every year to the Snowboarding Championships.

There are a total of 60km of pistes in Leysin, served by 16 lifts. Almost three-quarters of the runs are classified as easy, with the nursery slopes conveniently located at village level. The resort has blue runs found both at the wooded lower level, and at the top of the gondola.

Leysin has plenty of modern accommodation options and a variety of restaurant and bar venues.
