Cairngorm is one of Scotlands best known ski resort.
It is only 10 miles away from the nearest village,
Aviemore. Not only is this a fantastic place to enjoy
a family skiing holiday with 30% of it's runs being
based on a beginner skill - There has also been a large
amount of other activities in the area to keep the
whole family entertained from start to finish!
This resort is also very well known for it's large peak
of 1245 metres (4084 feet). With it's 13 chair lifts
and tows, the resort has the uplift capacity of
approximately 8042 skiers per hour - who can then enjoy
40km of runs, with the longest run being 3.0 km.
Also Cairngorm has the largest Nation Nature Reserve
park in Scotland, which was established in 2003. It
is the home for 25% of Britains most endangered birds,
plants and animals. Of course, it is much more than
just a park, this reserve also includes forests,
moorlands, glens and lochs.
Not only can this resort offer a great deal to those
looking to book a family holiday, it also offers
challenging skiing to those of higher skill levels,
with 40% of it's runs being Intermediate; and 30%
advanced. So whether it's the scenery, the skiing or
the challenge of the slopes, Cairngorm will be one
to consider.
