Mount Tcheget is one of Russia's top ski centres, the resort itself is around 125 miles from the checan border and police guard a majority of the hotels and other facilities.
The resort is fantastic for beginners looking to start out in the sport of skiing, with around half of it's runs being for beginners! In 2001 the International Free Skiers Tour was hosted there, making it just as much as a challenge for intermediates and advanced skiers.
