Porters
Porters is located 89 kms from Christchurch, rising to nearly 2000 meters. It offers spectacular views of the Southern Alps and magnificent Mt Cook.
As far as the great skiing goes Porters is better than ever. Led by their two most famous runs – Bluff Face and Big Mama – they have a wide range of slopes to suit every ability. Big Mama is the longest, steepest single slope in the Southern Hemisphere!
The difficulty of the slopes is classed as 15% beginner, 35% intermediate and 50% advanced.
There is a club-run lodge with 40 beds, situated along on the mountain's access road.
Open season is usually late June to early October.
