Mt. Robert
The Nelson Ski Club was formed back in 1944. The access (or lack of it) makes Mount Robert and the operation of the Club unique. It is run on a volunteer basis. Although Mount Robert is a club field, non-members are always welcome. Access to the field is by way of walking (2 hours) or helicopter (2 minutes).
The club has comfortable on-field lodges which accommodate up to 60. Bookings for Saturday overnight accommodation are essential. Although members have preference, non-members are most welcome and must book in by 8.00pm on Thursday evenings for the upcoming weekend. Space and facilities are limited with Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast being pooled.
The season runs at weekends from early July until late September.
