Area Profile
Zell am See is an attractive lakeside town that although lacks most of the characteristics of a typical Austrian winter sport resorts has plenty of it's own charm. The local slopes offer a reasonable variety of terrain, but advanced skiers may find they need to venture further afield to find a challenge.
The low altitude sometimes causes snow cover to be an issue which also has a knock-on effect on the congestion of the lifts, but generally the 130km of local trails provide plenty of skiing for everyone.
