Area Profile
Saalbach and neighbouring village Hinterglemm make up the second most popular tourist resort in Austria with a largely German and Dutch visitor base. The Skiing is World renown and have hosted many Alpine events including the 1991 World Championships. Although at reasonably low altitude, the local climatic conditions and many snow making machines help to maintain good snow cover on all areas of the Glemmtal Valley.
The resort is very much Tyrolean in style with Hinterglem being the slightly more up market of the 2 villages.
