Resort Overview

Area Profile

Altermarkt and its hamlet, Zauchensee are located in the Salzburg Sportwelt Amade region, renown for its vast area, record snow and ultimately excellent Skiing. Altermarkt is a busy little village providing the ideal location for families and couples.

There are a variety of bars, cafes and restaurants but the skiing is very limited and only suitable for novices. Zauchensee which is situated 10 minutes up the mountain (approx 500 metres up) is a purpose built resort with a much varied range of piste difficulty. There is very little queuing and the snow machines allow the pistes to be skiable from mid November to late April.

Between the 2 locations you will find the usual services and the accommodation capacity is 4600 beds. The Apres Ski and night-life is reasonably limited with most of it being situated in and around the main hotels.
